N'Jobu's Story

Color is very important to me in the design process. If I have specific colors in mind for a project, I'll often hop straight into color when doing the initial thumbnails. N'Jobu's design uses a lot of blacks, reds and deep blues, so I knew I wanted his cover story to feature those colors. I took creative liberties in depicting the vibrancy of West African landscapes in a way that echoed N'Jobu's deeper color palette.
